Skipton Waterways Festival

It's May Bank holiday weekend and we are spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit.  We decided on the Waterways Festival at Skipton as it's only up the road. I woke early before everyone else, sneaked out of bed (little man one side of me and hubby at the other) and downstairs for breakfast...porridge with fruit, put the coffee on and a croissant warming in the oven. Was going to put the washing out but it looked a little grey, nice rainbow though...

Made a picnic..ever the optimist :-) and continued with my party planning that I started yesterday.  Everyone else got up and I went off to the local village hall, a one-off plant sale, so I thought I'd see what they had.  Spent a tenner on a forget-me-not, strawberry plant, some tarragon, chinese lantern, lavender and another nice plant that I can't remember the name of!

Off we went on our day out...stopped for our picnic by the canal on the way...

Miss M up a tree, our not so girly girl.  We also saw a swan nesting...
Eventually arrived in Skipton...loads of narrow boats (obviously)...
I spotted this particularly colourful character on his boat, eating fish and chips. I love all the painted jugs and watering cans etc...
Ooooh a painted heart on a hatch...
On our way back to the car we spotted a crowd and wondered what was going on - a raft race...
We wanted to stay and see the pirates' raft of polystyerene but Ro was about to fall asleep so we ventured home. A good day out and the sun came out in the end. Nx
