We've had a brilliant 1st week of the holidays. I haven't taken any photos though...too busy enjoying it all...

We've been swimming, enjoyed precious time with friends, had a sleepover, been rock painting, walks with friends scoffing wild bilberries en route, had a picnic in the rain and yesterday we enjoyed a family walk, skimmed stones in the river and stumbled across a lovely little park with a climbing wall and a cherry tree.

Soooo from my slim pickings I have a photo of, ahem...a strawberry! Not just any strawberry, a home grown strawberry...and it's huge. 

and another photo is of my little treasures...they asked if we could do face paint one afternoon...they painted my face afterwards but I daren't put that one on - far too scary.

I wonder what adventures next week will bring...happy summer holidays x

We are in the midst of a mini heatwave at the mo and yesterday J fancied a trip to the beach.  Our beach of choice was the very lovely Lytham St Annes beach at Blackpool. So we jumped in the car...1 hour and 20 minutes later...

...soft sand between your toes, broken shells, paddling in the warm sea...
