We had flying Super-dollies dotted about...
I set up a little table and cut out some masks for the party guests to decorate...
I'm a little bit in love with orange roses at the moment...
The party food didn't really have any superhero theme, although I did put some cocktail sticks in the food bowls with comic style stars and explosion shapes on them saying YUM and Mmm and Super-strength etc. I did jam stars or ham triangle sandwiches, party sausages, veggie sausage rolls, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, cubes of cheese, houmous and breadsticks. A fruit platter of strawberries, sliced orange and grapes. A couple of types of crisps and Ro and I made some star biscuits with superhero cake toppers.
One of the Superhero party games was 'pin the mask on ...'
We also did a pass the parcel, I never know what to give as prizes, in the end I put sweets in between each layer and a pack of face paints and a medal for the winner...
Some of the boys didn't want to join in this game and were happy bouncing on the trampoline, I'd put an explosion style banner on there saying "FLIGHT TRAINING How high can you fly?" All-in-all I think it was a success, the kids were just happy to play together in the garden, not that fussed about any party games. Oh yes, and there was cake...
I'm pleased with my attempt at a Girly Superhero Cake...
and there were party bags, complete with superhero lollies...
I ummed and ahhed over what to put in and eventually settled on designing my own masks and capes for lollies, I had seen others on the internet, but I needed more girly ones, added a bouncy ball, one of those party whistles that unroll and make a noise when you blow it (can't remember what they're called), a smelly gel pen and some birthday cake.

When all the party friends had gone home we had some family time. My sister and brother-in-law and their 2 boys were here for the day, so we had lunch and leftover star biscuits (they weren't quite leftover, I made them for the mums but forgot about them, oops), while the birthday girl opened some presents...
and then coffee and cake...
and then lots of lazing about in the sunshine and children playing...
| My little Sis.
We even managed a trip to the local park, and the kids had a paddle...
