A bike ride on the towpath at East Marton

We decided to have a bike ride today along the canal towpath not too far from home, a gorgeous little village in East Marton.  This was our starting point...

And we're off...
We had only gone round the corner and we came across this amazing double arched bridge (I got another picture on the way back that shows the top arch more clearly) me and Ro decided to race that narrow boat...
It wasn't long before everyone was getting hungry and to be honest I was getting a bit fed up of hearing the cups chinking together in my basket on this stony towpath.  We stopped at a stone stile, just enough steps for us all too sit on, and this sign of the Pendle witch, showing the Pendle Way I think...
So we ate our picnic of Sarnies, Mini cheddars, Strawberries, juice and...
What! you don't take teacups on your picnics? A family of ducks came to visit - so they got the crusts, hope they like cheese and beetroot, chocolate spread, peanut butter and jam!
Then we turned back and set off towards the car, I took another couple of snaps of the lovely double arched bridge...

We left the bikes at the car and walked up through the pretty village, I wonder how long it took to carve this out?
We passed some lovely houses...
An old red phone box, you don't see many of those anymore...
Arrived at the Cross Keys pub at East Marton for peanuts etc...
J tested the local bitter, Copper Dragon brewery is just a few miles away in Skipton.
And then home, a lovely day out...Nx
